My life:
Rubianna Masa is a small town girl from Montana. She's happily married and has four
daughters. She
can often be found on the sidelines of a soccer field, basketball court,
track meet, or softball field, watching her daughters. Her house is a menagerie of kids, cats,
and dogs. Oops, can't forgot the fish and frog.
The house is never
quiet, but somehow she manages to write.
Her backyard has too much wildlife. Visitors range from black bears,
grizzly bears, moose, deer, foxes, porcupines, skunks, and other furry
creatures. No, she doesn’t live in Timbuktu, and she even lives close to town.
Professionally:
She teaches middle school and loves her students and believes middle school students are the best. As an author, she's
completed her second YA fantasy novel and is on the road to publishing when she believes the book is actually ready. She always planned to write, but
life got in the way. She decided her dreams would never become reality
unless she made it happen.
Writing Beliefs:
She
believes in the writing process – the whole writing process. Yep, that
includes revision as a key component. Editing is a little bit of clean
up (punctuation errors, grammar, spelling). Revision is big – a major
restructure where the characters, plot, or setting may change. This is a key component of writing and necessary to improve work. She learns something new as a writer all the time. She strives to
improve her craft and recommends a writing conference or class.
Tidbits:
She is the youngest of five children.
When her husband cooks, she adores it!
She loves her daughters enough to make all kinds of crazy, complicated cakes among other things.
Spiders and her will never be friends.
No
shocker - she loves to read. This addiction came later in life as a
teen. It's never too late to fall head over heels for a book.
Hi Glacier,
ReplyDeleteSaw your gravatar at Other Side of the Story (blog) and had to tell you how pretty it is. And you're from Montana (sigh). A place I've always wanted to see.
Best wishes in all your endeavors!
